Abstract
This article focuses on calculation and design procedure for one of the most popular heat exchangers (the “coil and jacket”) and on simulation of this process using Matlab software. Our research shows that the Hot and cold fluid temperatures, also that the type of fluid, flow rate and heat exchanger type are important factors that have great influence on results. Simulating the problem on Matlab software may help shorten time for calculation and design, and give results very quickly when input parameters change.
