CONTROL OF PARALLEL CONNECTED POWER CONVERTERS IN AC/DC MICROGRID

Abstract
In this paper, a power sharing control method for power converters in a AC/DC hybrid microgrid is proposed. The goal of the proposed method is to maintain voltage and frequency stability in the microgrid AC/DC, the power converters will share power according to their rated power ratio and be controlled to transmit power back and forth between the two AC and DC subgrids in an active AC/DC hybrid microgrid operates in independent mode. The control method will maintain voltage and frequency stability as well as active and reactive power balance. In addition, the proposed method can improve the voltage and frequency recovery ability for AC/DC microgrid in case of increased load or power generation failure in AC and DC subgrids. This is proven by simulation results on Matlab/Simulink software.
