Abstract
Citrus canker caused by Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. citri is one of popular and serious disease wherever lime growing areas, cause reducing fruit quality and yield. In this study, EA extract from E. tirucalli at different concentrations was used to evaluate the effectiveness of reducing canker disease caused by X. axonopodis pv. citri on lime tree in greenhouse and field. The results showed that, under greenhouse, treatment with high EA extract concentration of 1.0% well inhibited the growth of bacteria X. axonopodis in plant cells, with the smallest lesion size of 0.91 mm, 1.87 mm smaller than the control and the highest disease reduction effect was 67.84% after 3 treatments. In the field, using EA extract at a concentration of 1.25% to eliminate ulcer disease on lemon trees, the effectiveness of reducing disease on leaves is 63.75%, on fruit is 61.29% and the effect lasts up to 21 days after treatment. To our knowledge, EA extract from E. tirucalli can be a solution to alternate for synthetic pesticides in the management of canker disease on lime tree.
