Abstract

As a district of Ho Chi Minh City - the country's largest economic center, Tan Phu District possesses favorable conditions for sustainable development in the realms of economy, education, healthcare, and cultural society. This study is conducted to evaluate strengths, opportunities, and challenges, and outlines economic development strategies for Tan Phu District. Based on the balanced and unbalanced growth theories, and by applying several statistical techniques, this research reveals the achievements and advantages, as well as the limitations faced in Tan Phu’s economic development planning from 2010 to 2023. Based on these insights, the study suggests some key socio-economic targets for Tan Phu District and recommends several strategic solutions to cultivate competitive advantages and core competencies, ensuring effective and sustainable socio-economic development with a vision for 2045.
